New Single From Adrian O’Connell ‘Doodlebug’
Berlin-based Irish artist Adrian O’Connell has delivered a little end-of-year present to his fans in the form of a new self-release, a love song called “Doodlebug” (albeit a love song for an ex).
It’s a short acoustic (and distorted acoustic) guitar track, featuring his brother Bryan (Si Schroeder, Saso, El Diablo) on drums and their childhood friend Dean on bass guitar.
Recorded by Richard Bourke (one of the mysterious supremos behind Limerick’s Out On A Limb Records), it’s a catchy little number that under-stays its welcome, and begins with the soothing sounds of some unusual creatures chatting in the middle of a jungle.
The song received its first public airing at the beginning of December in a Berlin acoustic club, where it was greeted very positively, afterwards being described as an “ohrwurm” by the organisers.
It’s available on all digital platforms, and its release is accompanied by a quite strange video on YouTube.
