Cinemas

There is no doubt that music plays a huge part in the cinema going experience.

Taking out an IMRO & PPI Licence from IMRO for the use of music in your cinema ensures that you can legally use our vast repertoire of music to enhance the cinema-going experience for your customers.

You are also ensuring that the composers behind the music used in films are fairly remunerated for their work.

“To me, movies and music go hand in hand. When I’m writing a script, one of the first things I do is find the music I’m going to play for the opening sequence.”  Quentin Tarantino

You may require an IMRO & PPI Licence from IMRO if copyright music is used:

  • Within the films you screen
  • Within the advertisements or trailers preceding screenings
  • Within the trailers screened in the foyer
  • As background music in your public areas
