Am & Áit: Additional tickets Lisa Hannigan 21st August & Iarla O’Lionaird 22nd August

August 13, 2021

Selective Memory are pleased to announce that a limited number of tickets have been added for ‘Am & Áit’ taking place next weekend Saturday 21st August and Sunday 22nd August on the steps of the Pepper Canister Church on Mount Street, Dublin 2, kick starting at 7.30PM.

Lisa Hannigan, who will take to the stage supported by the Dublin Gospel Choir, will perform on Saturday night. Meanwhile, Iarla O’Lionaird will be joined by The Gloaming’s Caomhín Ó Raghallaigh and Matthew Nolan on Sunday. Aoife Nessa Frances will provide support for Iarla. These live performances will be the first events taking place in a public outdoor space in Dublin since the outbreak of Covid-19.

Framed by the splendour of Dublin’s Georgian houses this will be a near spiritual experience for music lovers as these exquisite musicians breathe life back into this historical quarter of the city and well-loved venue, performing outdoors on the steps of the church.

With specially curated visuals for each performance this landmark location was one of the last of the Georgian churches built by the Church of Ireland in the early 1800s. St Stephen’s Church is fondly referred to by Dubliners as the Pepper Cannister, the nickname derived from the shape of the spire, resembling a pepper cannister! While still used as a place of worship, the venue has played host to some of Ireland’s finest musicians in the past (albeit indoors).

The majestic backdrop of the Pepper Cannister Church, with its impressive pillars flanking the stage, is set to be an unmissable and memorable location for the celebration of song, togetherness, and the eternal beauty of the streets of Dublin – something we have all yearned for during these challenging times.

Tickets are €20 plus booking fee are available from www.selectivememory.ie. These shows are funded by the government Live Performance Support Scheme.
