Roisin El Cherif returns with new single/video ‘On Love Again’

February 24, 2023

Roisin El Cherif is an Irish Palestinian artist and music video director from Galway.
When personally selected by Ken Callait (Producer of Fleetwood Macs Rumours) to take part in ArtistMax, a songwriting workshop in LA, Roisin created material which contributed to her debut EP “Glass House” released in 2018.

With a background in film production, Roisin has built a distinctive visual style to go with her ethereal sound, drawing on mythology and magic. There are elements of overlapping genres in her music including folk, country, and a hint of rock. Roisin uses songwriting as a form of thought exploration.

She has performed on the stages of Electric Picnic, Body&Soul, Whelan’s, The Roisin Dubh and the Ruby Sessions among others. ‘Love Again’ is the first single from her forthcoming debut album.

‘On Love Again’

‘Love Again’ was witten in a lockdown when the worlds grief felt palpable.
“I wrote Love Again as a form of acceptance, inspired by the circle of life but also how grief was part of that circle.”

The song and video explore the musings of grief and letting go. It is the journey of the heart exploring memories of pain and love but concluding that healing will happen. We will learn to love again. In a world where everything is connected, everything is timeless and where memories and dreams are one. Recollections of time are precious. Drawing on Irish Mythology, where Faerie trees held such symbolism, and on the Fates from Greek mythology with the spinning wheel and cutting of the thread symbolising life.

It was shot in Wicklow by Sean Leonard (Game Of Thrones, The Winx and Disenchanted) directed by Roisin El Cherif and starring Susie Redmond (Loose Thread, I Am An Island).

The song was produced, mixed and mastered by South African producers Evan Raffles and Jordan Simons.
