Following the huge success of last year’s inaugural series, ‘Anam – Songs for Hearts & Minds’ returns to RTÉ this September with a host of extraordinary Irish and international music talent gracing intimate and historical stages around the country.

Produced in partnership by Other Voices, the Office of Public Works and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, this brand new four-part series brings together a dynamic and diverse group of artists.

Across four weeks, ‘Anam – Songs for Hearts & Minds’ takes viewers on a sonic journey, blending inspiring live performances with the beauty of some of Ireland’s most prestigious National Monuments and Heritage Properties.

Presented by MayKay, episode one kicks off with Carrick-on-Suir’s magnificent Ormond Castle providing a breathtaking backdrop for extraordinary performances by musical prodigy Muireann Bradley, Dublin’s musical polymath Uly, and an exclusive solo performance by Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker.

The new series of Anam will once again celebrate the new voices and sounds of Ireland with thrilling debuts from genre-bending singer-songwriter EFÉ, rising pop-star Moncrieff, TikTok sensation Sarah Crean, and history-making drill duo TraviS & Elzzz.

Philip King, Founder of Other Voices said: All of us at Other Voices are thrilled and delighted to bring you the second series of Anam – Songs for Hearts & Minds. With the guidance of the Office of Public Works, we took a band of musicians on a tour across Ireland and played magical music in four of the most beautiful heritage sites in the country. We can now share this trip with everybody on RTÉ television and on the RTÉ Player.

Throughout the series, Ireland’s thriving folk and trad scene will be honoured in all its forms with mesmerising performances by The Lost Brothers’ Oisín Leech, virtuosic fiddle player Martin Hayes performing alongside Crash Ensemble’s Kate Ellis, Claddagh Records signees Lemoncello, Kurdish/Syrian singer and Bouzouki player Mohammad Syfkhan, and an emotional performance by gifted young trad singer Piaras Ó Lorcáin.

From Dublin’s beautiful Pearse Museum in St Enda’s Park and the 17th century Parke’s Castle on the northern shores of Lough Gill in Leitrim to Carrick-on-Suir’s Elizabethan manor house of Ormond Castle and the Jacobean Manor House Portumna Castle in County Galway, these breathtaking Irish landmarks will serve as ethereal backdrops for this year’s Anam performances. All locations are owned and managed by the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage and the Office of Public Works.

‘Anam – Songs for Hearts & Minds’ was made possible with the generous support of the Office of Public Works and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. Full details are available at Othervoices.ie
