Yana is a Czech Republic native who found her spiritual home in Ireland. Her songs are deep, wrapped in atmospheric melodies. Given her influences, the likes of Interference, Mic Christopher or Glen Hansard, she writes songs that make you think. She worked with the likes of Liam Ó Maonlaí (Hothouse Flowers), Colm Mac Con Iomaire (The Frames) and more recently with Maurice Culligan (Interference).
Her debut EP “Distant Shore” came out in 2020 and now she shares her debut album “Journey of the Soul”.
According to Yana, the album is an Irish affair through and through, with one or two exceptions. Born during the pandemic which provided more time to be creative, the album is a true labour of love, containing songs of mental health, romance, loss, adapting to changes. And heroes.
