Thewlis flick the switch for their first single of 2024 and announce first live show

March 5, 2024

Irish band Thewlis are proud to present their sixth single While The Red Light’s On.

It is a slice of propulsive power pop produced by the legendary Radiators From Space and Trouble Pilgrims guitarist Pete Holidai.
He helmed the production of Thewlis’s previous single The One Before The One which has become the most successful of the releases by the duo consisting of Danny McElhinney and Cormac Curtis.

In the guise of an incredibly catchy guitar-driven song with tight harmonies Thewlis’s sixth single speaks to the power and effect of music on both the artist and the audience. It hints at everything from the tragic events at the Rolling Stones’ 1970 Altamont concert to artists self-destructing and dying before their time.

I’ll stay until I’m gone and while the red light’s on, feted from sea to shining sea.”

Thewlis will travel to Donegal to play their first live show at the Balor Arts Centre in Ballybofey. The show is part of the centre’s popular Ghostlight Sessions and takes place on Thursday April 11th.

Prior to While The Red Light’s On Thewlis have released five singles since December 2021.

The Boy Behind Bowie; County Level; One Day Summer, The Manslaughter Ballad and The One Before The One received extensive local and national radio play.

These tracks can also be found on all streaming platforms.
