Back To You is the first single and title track from the brand new third album from Irish roots duo The Remedy Club.
Husband and wife duo Kj McEvoy and Aileen Mythen have been described as ‘Ireland’s best kept musical secret’ by Hotpress Magazine. Their first two albums Lovers, Legends and Lost Causes and True Hand True Heart were independently released by the duo to great critical acclaim in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the US – ‘’My new favourite duo of all time (ROCKING MAGPIE, UK), ‘Outstanding’ (NO DEPRESSION, US). Their sophomore album True Hand True Heart was recorded in Room and Board studios, Nashville and produced by five time Grammy award winner Ray Kennedy (Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow).
The song is a glorious upbeat blast of Rock/Americana with nods to Fleetwood Mac and Springsteen. Although there are plenty of catchy pop hooks, lyrically it shows an introspective side to the duo. Its’ personal subject matter balances the joys and challenges of parenthood;
‘You break my heart in two while bringing me back down to earth and back to life’’.
With their new single The Remedy Club broaden their sonic palette with strings and brass and feature some notable Irish musicians including Aongus Ralston on bass (The Waterboys), Binzer Brennan on drums (The Frames) and Michael Buckley and Ronan Dooney on brass (Van Morrison) with stunning string arrangements by Liam Bates (Texas). The song was co-produced by Gavin Glass (Orphan Studios) and The Remedy Club.
