Speaking about the upcoming shows in Belfast and Dublin, Rachel Tucker said: “I am absolutely delighted beyond words to be on tour and kicking it off and what better plan than where it all began for me! I am thrilled to be at the brilliant Mac Theatre for two shows, and my first time performing my solo show in Dublin, I cannot wait to spend time at and sing on my home turf. This album has captured the true essence via songs and music of what home means to me. It took me a while to figure it out, but for me this album says it all!”

Rachel Tucker is an Olivier Nominated Actress who most recently starred in Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre in London playing the lead role of Norma Desmond alongside Nicole Scherzinger. Prior to that, she starred in Come From Away at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Broadway, playing the role of Annette/Beverley Bass, the role she originated in London. Rachel received an Olivier Nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards and she won Best Supporting Actress in a Musical at the 2020 WhatsOnStage Awards for her performance of this role.

Rachel became best known for her interpretation of Elphaba in London’s West End production of Wicked at the Apollo Theatre.  After playing the role for three years and over one thousand performances she became the show’s longest running consecutive ‘Green Witch’ and won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Takeover in a Role in 2011.

As a consequence Rachel was invited to play Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway and won the 2016 Audience Choice Award in the Broadway.com Awards for Favourite Replacement for her performance. In 2017 Rachel was invited back to Apollo Theatre to portray Elphaba as part of Wicked’s10th Anniversary celebrations in London.

Rachel’s own iconic version of Defying Gravity can be found on her first studio album The Reason, which was released in 2013.

In 2014 Rachel continued her relationship with Wicked’s director, Joe Mantello, by making her Broadway debut in Sting’s original musical The Last Ship in which she originated the role of Meg Dawson. Rachel can be heard on the original cast recording of The Last Ship performing with Sting.

Rachel is a highly sought after concert performer; In 2022 Rachel performed at the prestigious Sydney Opera House and The Arts Centre, Melbourne, in ‘Do You Hear The People Sing’, a concert spectacular of Boublil and Schönberg’s best known works, curated by and featuring the composers.

Most recently Rachel returned to Japan, performing once again at the celebrated Orb Theatre in their spectacular New Year’s Concert 2023.

In 2008 Rachel’s version of Kandor & Ebb’s Cabaret shot her to fame when she became a semi-finalist in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s TV talent show, I’d Do Anything (BBC1), competing for the role of Nancy in Cameron Mackintosh’s West End revival of Oliver!

Rachel has won multiple awards for her own solo shows which she has performed in London, throughout the UK and especially her hometown, Belfast, Northern Ireland. In 2015 she won The West End Wilma Award for Best Cabaret/Solo Performance with her show From Belfast To Broadway. In 2017 she toured her second studio album On The Road to sold out venues to great acclaim and won for the second time Best Cabaret/Solo Performance at the 2017 West End Wilma Awards for her sold out residency at Crazy Coq’s in London’s West End.

Rachel is also an experienced screen actress – she can be seen playing the role of Siobhan O’Hare in Longstory’s new Northern Irish television series, Hope Street; available on BBC iPlayer and BritBox. Rachel is about to start filming season 3.

Other TV credits include: Sharon in Neal Street Production’s highly acclaimed Informer, with Paddy Consindine (BBC1) and BBC’s own Holby City.

Recent Theatre credits include: Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun (London Palladium); Jen in John and Jen(Southwark Playhouse) for which she won Best Lead Performance In A Musical in the Off West End Awards OFFIES 2022; The Pirate Queen (London Coliseum); Songs For a New World (London Palladium & Streaming); Communicating Doors (Menier Chocolate Factory); Farragut North (Southwark Playhouse); and Meat in We Will Rock You,marking her West End debut.

Just this March Rachel has just appeared at theatre Royal, Drury Lane in a new musical ‘Wild About You’ starring Eric Mc Cormac and Todrick Hall and a one night concert version of  the musical Sideshow with Louise Dearman.”

Rachel’s latest album You’re Already Home was released in November 2023.
