Rising Irish Pop Star Sophie Doyle Ryder is a 19 year old Singer-Songwriter from Malahide, Dublin. She has drawn comparisons to Rihanna, Ariana Grande and Anne Marie. She has been writing and singing since childhood.
She released her debut single in September 2019 and since then she has 6 singles so far. Her highly anticipated debut EP came out on the 13th of May 2022.
Sophie’s music has received over 36 million Irish radio impressions, international airplay and placements in addition to outstanding Spotify editorial playlists. Sophie was announced as one of the RTE 2FM Rising acts for 2022.
Ahead of her Saturday slot on the IMRO Stage, we caught up with Sophie on what she’s most looking forward to at INDIE22;
Is this your first time playing at INDIE?
Yes!! I’m Super excited. I’ve been waiting all year for this! I’ve been told the atmosphere is electric.
When can people see you on the IMRO Stage?
On Saturday The 30th Of July 6:15pm!
What should we expect?
A live band! I’ll be playing some unreleased tracks. The audience will have a lot of fun! My music live is much better than the tracks in my opinion lol! It’s much more fun.
Which of the other acts are you hoping to catch live this weekend?
Kehli!! She is incredible! Malaki and Bobbi Arlo! I also can’t wait to see Marty Guilfoyle!
What’s next for you?
I have a gig on September 16th in Workman’s Cellar! Also a few singles soon!! And a possible Hunni Hunni remix, which I’m super excited about. I had a gig in London in April and I can’t wait to play there again, very soon.
