Siobhán McAleese is back again with another original composition, this time a fun, festive Christmas song for everyone to enjoy!
“Merry Jolly Christmas was so much fun to write! It started as a little jingle while helping my two kids Maisie and Dylan brush their teeth one night”, explains Siobhán. “The fun and catchy chorus stuck in our heads and from there I began to pen words and verses.”
Merry Jolly Christmas comes three months after the successful release of Siobháns first original piano composition, ‘Just Breathe’ which was described by Marty Whelan on Lyric FM as “just gorgeous’. “Merry Jolly Christmas can be enjoyed by people of all ages and that was always the hope for me” says Siobhán. “It is so special when I see just how my own two children enjoy and sing it around our house. I hope other families get as much fun and festiveness from Merry Jolly Christmas as we do!”
Merry Jolly Christmas features the voices of Maisie McAleese, Doireann Ní Mhuirí, Fiadh Ní Mhuirí, Isla Gillick, Hattie Gillick and Hugo Gillick (all from Meath) known collectively as The Magic of Christmas Kids. The track was produced by Martin Quinn, Jam Studios.
“The kids were brilliant throughout, learning their words, coming into the studio and taking part in the official music video which we recorded at Causey Farm. Causey Farm have the most amazing experience at Christmas time for families so we were so lucky to have their support as the perfect backdrop to our music video, which was filmed by Aidan Farrely of Bad Apple Films”.
An animated lyric video will also be released just before Santa makes his journey as a special bonus, produced and edited by Siobhán herself. “I really hope children worldwide will get to see these videos and hear Merry Jolly Christmas so that it can live on and bring so much fun and joy every year”.
