‘Seán Finn and the Late Bloomers’ released their second single ‘Damaged Goods’ on the 16th of June. Helmed by frontman Seán Finn, the group have become known for their quirky stage antics and vibrant musicality. The group have frequented many of London’s notable live music venues such as the Spice of Life, Soho and Toulouse Lautrec, Kennington.

‘Damaged Goods’ is a wistful piano ballad with an endearing melody, heart-tugging lyrics, and a warm instrumental backdrop. The song ponders the hardships faced by young women as they leave home and face the world on their own. Despite the heavy topic, the narrator assures them that one day their prince will come. The reflective songwriter had this to say about song:

‘This tune started off as a simple piano ballad, but when I brought it to the band they really added a sense of gravitas to the track. The arrangement came together beautifully on this one, with smooth basslines, tasteful drum fills and a soaring flute melody that ties it all  together. It’s one of those songs that I’m surprised I wrote myself, but absolutely delighted to say it’s one of my own.’

With international dates on the horizon, the group are rolling out their debut project this summer. ‘Damaged Goods is available in all the usual places now.
