This Saturday, September 3rd, RTE Concert Orchestra presents the world premiere of ‘Room’ with live score.
The screening with live score will be performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, under conductor Gavin Maloney at the National Concert Hall.
Director Lenny Abrahamson, composer Stephen Rennicks and author/adaptor Emma Donoghue will introduce the film, in conversation with John Kelly.
Adapted by Emma Donoghue from her own best-selling novel, ‘Room’, starring Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay, received Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay, with Brie Larson going on to win the Best Actress award for her role in the film.
The score by Rennicks – one of Ireland’s top film composers and a regular Abrahamson collaborator – was described as ‘superbly empathetic’ by the Guardian.
