RTE FOLK AWARDS BEST GROUP NOMINEES Greenshine are currently releasing their new single New Moon On Friday to radio and online and print media. The track, written by bandmember Mary Greene, is taken from their upcoming album of the same name. New Moon On Friday will be available at Music | greenshine (bandcamp.com) from Wednesday 21 September, just in time for their tour.
Although it’s a break-up song, it’s a loving one because sometimes the most loving thing you can do for the love of your life is release them as “Love cannot be a chain of gold, love must be a key.”
New Moon On Friday features Ellie Shine on Lead Vocals, Mary Greene on Harmonies, Acoustic Guitar and Concertina and Noel Shine on almost everything else! You will also hear regular collaborators David Murphy on Pedal Steel and Martin Leahy on Drums.
Previous singles including Dandelion Seed, The Good is Gone and The Girl in the Lavender Dress all reached number 1 in the RTERadio1 Airplay Chart with The Girl in the Lavender Dress going on to become the second most played Irish track of the year of its release on the station.
