New Single From Lisa Murray ‘i unfollowed u’

January 17, 2022

Singer/songwriter, producer and multi-disciplinary artist Lisa Murray is kicking off 2022 with her modern, engaging and relevant second single ‘i unfollowed u’ out Friday, January 21st, following the success of her debut single ‘The Kind of Girl’ last year.

The new cheeky pop anthem – written, produced and mixed by Lisa herself – speaks about the universal theme of unfollowing exes on social media after they’ve moved on and started showcasing their new relationship online.

Lisa’s autobiographical and narrative story telling, coupled with her unique production craft makes for a feel-good anthem with all the hallmarks of an excellent pop track. Her tuneful, synth-heavy and harmony focused music takes inspiration from renowned pop voices such as Taylor Swift, Sigrid and MARINA.

This tongue-in-cheek single was inspired by a conversation between Lisa and her childhood best friend;

“We were catching up after not seeing each other for months during the pandemic. We ended up laughing and joking about social media, who we had muted, who we had unfollowed and people who had unfollowed us. There’s a lot of politics around it all, which we both found very amusing.” says Lisa. “The next morning I woke up with this song idea in my head and I had finished writing it within a couple of hours!”

Lisa holds a Masters degree in Music Production, Technology and Innovation from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music as well as an undergraduate degree in Music and Irish from Trinity College Dublin. Alongside her musical work, Lisa works as an Audio Engineer at Sony Music Entertainment.

She is also passionate about uplifting women and gender minorities in the industry, also devotes a great deal of her time towards closing the gender gap in the music industry by working as the Chapter Director of shesaid.so Dublin.
