February 2nd sees Derry band Lavengro, Gareth Borrow, Dave & James Healy and Jordan Edgar, release their brand-new single ‘Lie’. The 1st single from Lavengro’s upcoming EP, ‘Lie’ reflects their youthful contagious energy and sets out their ambitions for 2024.
Comprised of catchy, driving melodies and polished with honest relatable lyrics. Written from personal experiences, ‘Lie’ a fusion of soulful melodies, thought-‘provoking lyrics, and a distinctive sonic signature is a testament to Lavengro’s evolving sound.

Lie, a song with undeniable singalong ability, reflects a darker underlying narrative of denial & vulnerability that comes from knowing a relationship is over, because of your own choices and actions, but rather than face the truth, you’d rather live a Lie.
Speaking about ‘Lie’ Gareth Borrow said: “The song is about being caught in a labyrinth of denial and guilt because someone you love wants to end the relationship because you betrayed their trust. You know it’s your own fault, but you don’t want to acknowledge. Lie is about your mind using hopeful illusions to protect the heart from being shattered.”
Having impressed Irish radio over the past year, including consistent playlists on Cool FM & Q Radio, Lavengro have also scored national radio playlist positions and have been tipped as future headliners by BBC Introducing, with their tracks appearing across BBC Radio 1.
