JyellowL learned from his Jamaican grandmother how to be himself in a world that wants to force you down a particular path. Speaking on being announced for the Eurosong final JyellowL said, ”It’s an absolute honour to be one of 6 shortlisted acts to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2024. I would love nothing more than to represent Ireland as a force to be reckoned with on the continental stage. I’ve always been a flag bearer for Irish music from my song ‘Ozone’ being on the soundtrack for FIFA 20 and putting a spotlight on the Irish rap scene. This is different for me because now I will actually be looking to carry the Eurovision ambitions of the country on my shoulders and I will do it with pride.”
