Ispíní na hÉireann announce support act The Deadlians For their Holiday season headline show at The Academy, Dublin

October 17, 2023

Thursday, December 21, 2023 will ring in the Longest Night of the Year with an Ispíní na hÉireann Christmas Bash at The Academy, Dublin, with support act just announced, The Deadlians.

The show will highlight music from Ispíní na hÉireann’s debut album, The Hard Working Men, as well as new work. Following their album release in the autumn of 2022 and a sold-out winter tour as support for The Scratch in Ireland and the UK, Ispíní na hÉireann’s demand for a headline show increased. Their show at The Grand Social in March of this year sold out in less than a week leading to the band searching out a larger venue for their next headline performance. You are guaranteed an entertaining, raucous, and dazzlingly wild night with these guys.

Ispíní na hÉireann’s music is a combination of original songs as well as reimagined covers and tunes, all influenced by the Irish musical tradition. There are layers of subtext and commentary, and a genuine method to all the madness. And as with any great art, it is left open to the interpretation of the listener. It is up to the audience to decide whether or not this is all waffle, or if deeper meaning can be found amidst the chaotic noise.

The Deadlians are Sean Fitzgerald (vocals, trumpet, fiddle), Barry Semple (drums), Tommy Foster (baritone guitar), Luke Farrell (synth), and Eoin Campbell (bass guitar). Their mix of psychedelic rock, folk, and punk creates a lively, fun atmosphere. Songs written in our time, of our time, for all time.
