November 4, 2020

Up and coming Irish songwriter Owen Rua releases his impressive new emotive single ‘Don’t Rely On Anybody But Yourself’ on 6th November.

A prolific songwriter and performer, Owen blends piano with rock and soul sounds, drawing influence from the likes of Hozier, Lewis Capaldi and Sam Smith, to create his unique, upbeat pop sound.

Growing up in a very musical household, and from a young age he knew he would embark on a journey to make his dreams come true. Fully immersing himself into music, this led Owen to Rome, Italy, where he studied music in

Saint Louis College. Along with this, he graduated with a 4-year degree from the Cork School of Music.  Coming back to Ireland, Owen would regularly perform passionate acoustic performances around the country, making him a celebrity in his hometown of Tralee, Co. Kerry.

Storytelling is an important part of the creative process for Owen. ‘Don’t Rely On Anybody But Yourself’  is a breakup empowerment anthem.  It’s a tale of overcoming heartbreak, finding independence and self love.
