HOMETIME releases the 4-track EP WHAT YOU WANTED – THE VINNY VERO MIXES on 2 February. Produced in New York by Vinny Vero, for So Hip It Hurts Productions, the set contains a new single remix, a classic 12” version, a radio edit, and a dub mix.
The main single was produced by Tomás Forde of Irish indie band, Northern Ives. Vero’s remixes hitch the original track’s hooks to 80s-scented dance beats, additional guitars, backing vocals, and even a clarinet solo. For good measure, there’s also a promo-only mash-up with The Human League’s hit “Human.”
HOMETIME joins Vero’s impressive roster of big-name clients, including Pet Shop Boys, Bright Light Bright Light, Blondie, and ABBA’s Frida among others.
HOMETIME is the pop project of Dublin singer/songwriter, Tony Kavanagh. He has amassed a back catalogue of songs, some of which form the basis of the forthcoming album, SYLLABLES. Other songs have been recorded and released by other artists. The previous singles GRATITUDE, THE SOUND OF HEARTBREAK and IT BEATS LIVING ALONE have generated a buzz, picking up airplay and best-of-year list placements at home and abroad. Two have reached No.1 on Canada’s gay chart, The Q32.
