Fia Moon Stands Strong on New Single ‘On Fire’

October 20, 2023

Irish pop/singer-songwriter, Fia Moon returns with new single ‘On Fire’ set for release on 20th October . An upbeat earworm layered with tribal rhythmical drums, guitar and Fia’s silky vocals combine to create a fun, light hearted pop song with a sexy undertone.

With an emphasis on the rhythm of the production to reflect the song’s meaning, Fia explains, “This song is about standing in your own power and being confident, loving and accepting YOURSELF and the journey you’re on. But in a fun sort of way.

Ironically, when I first wrote this song, I didn’t feel like this was me at all. I used to go to a lot of different people for advice – I was relatively new to the music industry, I thought I needed to ask anyone I got into a room with what they thought. I felt like everyone was so much more experienced than me and I genuinely valued their opinion. It turned out though, as it always does, that too many cooks really does spoil the broth. I’ve realized the power of keeping things closer to myself, quietly working away and learning to trust myself in the process.

It’s such a fun song to sing and I realize now that there’s a time and place to speak up, to be your own champion, because if YOU’RE not going to, then who the hell else is gonna?

You gotta set your own standard of how you deserve to be treated and once you own that, that feeling is powerful. That confidence that comes with knowing yourself, loving yourself, it’s freeing. Remembering the only opinion that matters is the person looking back at you in the mirror.”

The lyrics in the chorus not only allude to loving yourself with ‘my body’s on fire ’, but also the idea that you have been set alight and anything intruding on your path can ‘get out the way’ as a spark has been lit.

Fia co-wrote ‘On Fire’ with London based producer Deewaan ( Liam Payne, Lady Gaga, Kolidescopes ). The recording process involved a lot of late nights and took a lot of trial and error as it was just Fia and Deewaan in the studio working on the production and the mix to fully capture the essence of the song. Fia explains, “we’re both perfectionists, both ‘Taurus’ and we would laugh at how similar we are in that respect. We could have either clashed or worked well together. Luckily, it was the latter and we pushed each other to get the best sound we could.”
