Ireland Music Week – Artist Applications to Open Early this Year

January 18, 2023

Ireland Music Week is delighted to announce that the festival will return to Dublin venues in October. The international-facing showcase and conference, now its twenty-first year, will take place from October 3rd-6th.

The festival will be calling on artists to apply to play a bit earlier this year. This will allow both the festival and artists alike to prepare to showcase in the best way possible. Applications will be open for 6 weeks this year from 13th February to 27th March. 50 Irish acts will have the chance to showcase in October, with the line-up being announced in June.

Ahead of the applications opening, IMW will hold a Zoom on 8th February, open to all artists and their teams, with some tips on how to apply (further details to follow).

Up to around 70 international delegates will once again attend, with buyers and bookers from the likes of ESNS, SXSW, The Great Escape, c/o Pop, ATC, CAA and many more.

Angela Dorgan, CEO of First Music Contact, explains: “Ireland Music Week continues to be a key strategic moment in any Irish artists’ professional career development. With a stronger IMW team in place and with artists selected earlier we can collaboratively be more intelligent with our international guest-invitations and work to grow the domestic and international teams of our export ready artists, giving them the best opportunity to grow international audiences”.

Ireland Music Week places a strong focus on export-ready artists with an increased success rate year on year. Bookers, labels, publishers, managers, agents, and many more international professionals have confirmed to attend this annual showcase and conference, which is an essential step in any Irish artists’ development.

Ireland Music Week will continue its partnership with Keychange this year and, as always, the festival strives to achieve at least a 50% representation of women and underrepresented gender minorities in its line-up.
