Music for Enjoyment is celebrating its 6th year running summer camps and are looking bigger and better than ever with this years camps showing big increases in bookings and interest. Their aim was to promote an ENJOYMENT in music…to take the classroom out of learning and playing and to show how it can be FUN. A key element of the camp is their song writing competition where organisers give a range of topics and ask students to pen a composition on these topics. Last years competition was judged by Charlie McGettigan at a Gala Concert where the winning song was performed.
The Gala Concert is another big part of the camps where they try to instill a sense of professionalism in students by giving them a proper stage, lighting, equipment etc to perform a top level gig.
Camps run from July 3 to 7 inclusive and 10 to 14 inclusive with Gala Concert on Sunday July 16. The venue is the Longford Arms Hotel, Main Street, Longford with camps running 10.00am til 3.00pm daily. The cost is €100 per child with concessions for families.
