Hvmmingbyrd Release Their New Single & Video For ‘If Love Was Enough’ Starring NBC’s ‘The Nightshift’ Irish Actor Eoin Macken

Kildare band Hvmmingbyrd re-formed from its folky quintet beginnings of 2013, to an alt-pop duo in 2016 with original member Deborah Byrne joined by Suzette Das. With their atmospheric use of complex vocal arrangements and loops, and electronic sounds using synths and drum machine, they have drawn comparisons to artists such as Enya and Massive Attack.

Named Hot Press Super Six in 2015, their first single ‘Out of My Head’ released in 2016 was featured by Nialler9 and selected as Song of the Week on The Irish Times.

They look forward to playing Indiependence Music Trail, Live at Heart festival in Sweden and Electric Picnic this summer, and launching their new EP ‘Know My Name’ produced by Hvmmingbyrd and Aisling Jarvis on September 29th in the Grand Social.

MathMan & The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble ‘Hyp Hop’

Dublin city meets Chicago in this collaborative project two years in the making as producer MathMan teams up with the legendary brothers Hypnotic for ‘Hyp Hop’ – a golden era inspired collection of raw boom bap.

Having first collaborated on the Animators 2013 hit ‘Those Were the Days’ – a creative energy was sparked between MathMan and the HBE which inspired this unique collaborative project.

‘Hyp Hop’ allows us to see an exciting new side to the HBE – one unheard on previous solo projects. Leaving the musical landscape in the very capable hands of MathMan, the HBE put the brass to one side momentarily to exhibit their love of hip hop and their natural flare and talent for lyricism with raw, authentic flows and wordplay.

On ‘Hyp Hop’, MathMan’s vivid production style inspires the canvas on which the HBE paint. Thematically HBE’s social consciousness is clear on tracks such as ‘M.O.M’ and ‘True to Life’. Elsewhere, MathMan’s laid back production on ‘Gain It All’ and ‘Baji’s Interlude’ evokes tones of positivity and self affirmation. Darker themes are explored on ‘Milwaukee’ and ‘Streets’ whilst the true essence of hip hop is brought to life on lead single ‘Where I’m From’ (featuring DMC champion Dj Tuki) with raw lyricism and authentic boom bap production.

To complete the package, MathMan flips the collaborative process and re-works one of HBE’s own productions in ‘Navigator’. Here he turns their 2014 hit from the album ‘Fly’ into a colossal end of night orchestration.

Sonically and thematically ‘Hyp Hop’ is a well rounded project that’s conscious and introspective with a quintessential hip hop sound.

Produced by MathMan Mixed by MathMan Mastered by Damian Chennells Artwork & Sleeve design by Dan Leo © Weapon of Choice 2016 ‘Hyp Hop’ is available as a digital download from all online retailers and as a limited edition cassette tape from August 1st 2016.

Createschool Music Education Programme 2016

Createschool has been successfully delivering workshops now for over 15 years, encouraging students to collaborate and discover hidden talents. We began with Songschool and from there our interests and passions led us to develop our workshop portfolio into a broader range of creative and multimedia offerings. We can now enable students to develop their own creativity and express themselves through moving images, words or music.

Our commitment to delivering excellent and rewarding education experiences remains as strong as ever.

Technology

Our workshops focus on capturing, harnessing and sharing creativity and sometimes this will be best achieved through using mobile digital technology (phones, iPads etc). Technology is used for its creative application rather than simply its practical capability. Whilst we predominantly use Apple technology, we ensure that everything we teach can also be done on open source software for PC laptops, Android smart phones etc.

Some important practical stuff…

Workshops are designed to fit into existing teaching plans or can be developed as a separate project ( based on themes such as the Environment, DevEd and Mental Health)

An ability to use technology, be an expert LEGO builder, direct a movie, sing or play an instrument is NOT a pre-requisite

Our workshops are suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities (8 years old and beyond…!)

Workshops are delivered in schools, art centres, venues and festivals throughout Ireland

Workshops can be customised to suit specific requirements

All equipment and materials are supplied

You can find information on when and where all of the Createschool events will be happening on their Facebook and Website.
