“why don’t u like me anymore?” is a song that comes with it, a universal experience as well as being quite personal. While this song is an ode to lost friendships and the growing pains that seem to follow you through late adolescence, we didn’t necessarily want to make it sad or depressing. But the innate feeling of rejection is typically wrapped in a bundle of other emotions; anxiety, confusion, even anger at times. We wanted to represent that. We aren’t sad, we are aware that as humans we have to change and move on. We don’t really know what we are, but we know that this feeling is probably something we won’t just experience once in our lives. It’s also something that can be incredibly lonely. By writing this song, not only were we creating an outlet for ourselves but also for everyone who’s thought the question “why don’t u like me anymore?“.
