Title Track from Upcoming EP “Letters” Released Ahead of Launch of Record this Autumn
Folk-pop artist Sarah Keane has launched her brand-new single, “Letters”, the second, title track taken from her upcoming debut EP, also entitled “Letters”, which will be released this autumn.
The new folk track, which was produced by Galway based Dave Skelton (Aimee Carty) and mastered by Aidan Foley (Sinead O’Connor, U2) tells the story of Sarah composing and sending a letter to a close friend after a period of silence.
Explaining the story behind the track, Sarah says “We would often go for long periods without chatting, except this time when I went to contact him his social media presence had disappeared and his phone wasn’t working. I feared for the worst, and just wished I’d got in touch much sooner.”
“The song captures a time when I was hoping I would get a chance to remind him there’s always friends who care. Hopefully it will encourage some listeners to reach out to old friends and connect again”. The song encapsulates Sarah’s distinctive vocals and trademark acoustic guitar, alongside unique piano and orchestral textures.
Sarah, who was raised by the Atlantic coast in Co. Mayo, is a solo folk pop singer. Sarah has supported Irish talent both at home and overseas, including CMAT, Jack L, Junior Brother, and Lisa Canny. Her music has been featured on radio and TV at home and abroad including RTE 1, RTE Radio 1, BBC, 2fm and Hot Press. Sarah has become known across Ireland for her soulful vocals, unique story-telling ability, and enchanting performances.
With her upcoming EP, Sarah has a busy few months ahead, and has just finished a tour across Ireland and London, visiting venues like the Camden Club, the Spirit Store, Dolan’s Warehouse and the Ruby Sessions.
