Eve Clague Returns with New Single “Red Skies” and Debut Album Announcement

May 13, 2024

Eve Clague, the talented singer-songwriter hailing from Clonakilty, West Cork, marks her return to the music scene with the release of her new single “Red Skies” and the announcement of her debut album, “Caught in Words.”

“Red Skies” is about starting a new relationship but not fully letting yourself embrace being with the person. Hurt from a past relationship and struggling with trust issues, while trying to open up. The difficulty of breaking through emotions of doubt and acceptance.

The release is accompanied by a music video crafted by Clague’s college friend, Maiya Rice. Inspired by the lyric: “scattered by lying eyes”, the video showcases handcrafted characters and the illusion of stop-motion visuals, culminating with an eruption of a volcano of googly eyes.

Reflecting on her journey, Clague shares, “Recording ‘Red Skies’ feels like revisiting a chapter of my life. I’ve grown immensely since then, and this song is a testament to that evolution.”

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Clague’s passion for music remained unwavering. She channeled her creativity into gardening and exploring new interests, which ultimately reignited her desire to share her music with the world.

In addition to the single release, Clague announces her eagerly anticipated debut album, “Caught in Words.” Featuring eight tracks that blend orchestral elements, drones, and Clague’s signature acoustic style. Collaborating with musicians from Ireland, Clague has crafted a diverse collection of songs that showcase her growth as an artist.

Following the success of two sold-out shows in 2024, Clague looks forward to sharing her music with audiences worldwide. With the release of two more singles in the autumn and the album slated for November, fans can anticipate an exciting lineup of shows and performances.
