Patrick Stefan releases the slumbering fan-favourite ‘The Waves, the waves’.
Off the back of a sold-out album launch, Patrick Stefan has released a new song ‘The Waves, the waves’ – a slumbering, lulling, fan-favourite from his live set.
About The Waves, the waves
Inspired by Moby Dick, wayfaring and by the hypnotic rhythms of the sea, The Waves, the waves borrows a sample from American-Irish Tap-Dancer Morgan Bullock, who’s Irish-tap video went viral during lockdown.
Patrick says;
‘I was enchanted by Morgan’s Irish dancing to modern beats, it gave me hope. I reached out to her agent (her mother) to clear the sample from her viral video, then wrote this track with it. As I like to mix world music rhythms into my own songwriting and apparently my great grandfather was a champion tap dancer – it was a perfect fit.’
