The Best Part are an alt-pop duo from Ireland composed of singer/ songwriter, Aimee Cuffe & songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist, David Dudeney. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of genres, their sound is a rich tapestry of intricate vocal layers woven with electric guitars and synths.
To date, the duo have earned their stripes on major Spotify Editorial playlists such as ‘New Music Friday’, ‘New Pop UK’, ‘New Pop Revolution’, ‘Chilled Pop Hits’ & ‘Easy’. They also caught the attention of UK tastemakers ‘BBC Introducing’ and garnered airplay across Ireland, the UK & Germany.
Recently shortlisted for Irish Music Months ‘A New Local Hero’ in association with Hotpress, their single ‘Our House Is Burning’ focused on climate activism with proceeds donated to a wildlife conservation charity in Kenya. A signpost that marks the path the pair intend to pave.
The Best Part played their debut headline show in The Workman’s Club days before lockdown in 2020 and recently made a triumphant return in October, backed by their powerful live band. Their debut overseas show in London’s ‘The Fiddler’ followed, to a receptive welcome.
Using the time during the pandemic for growth through reflection, the duo focused solely on the songwriting process and honing their craft. The product of that year of introspection is now ready to be shared with the world.
