Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival

The 2019 Fastnet Maritime and Folk Festival takes place in Ballydehob from June 14th to 16th this year with a huge range of performers already confirmed to take part.
Among those appearing this year will be Martin Carthy and John Kirkpatrick, Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly, Richard Grainger, Geoff Higginbotham, Jim Mageean, Pat Sheridan, Dick Miles, Rosie Stewart, Andrew Mackay and Carole Etherton, Andy Kenna,, Baggyrinkle Shanty Singers The Cork Singers’ Club and many many more.
A highlight of the festival is the Maritime song competition which is sponsored by IMRO, with cash prizes totalling €250. Entrants must perform their song live in Ballydehob on Sat June 15th 2019. Songwriters may enter the competition by emailing lyrics of their song entry to dickmiles77@nullgmail.com. Closing date by email is midnight on the 10th of June, closing date by conventional post is 5th June. All entries must be posted to Richard Miles, Cooragurteen, Ballydehob, County Cork, Ireland.
Songwriters must be available to perform their song live at the festival, and all must have legible copies of songs for the competition given to the judges at the commencement of the competition.
