AIC Presents: Flute Concert with Hanan Hadzajlic
The Association of Irish Composers are delighted to announce the details of two concerts with flautist/composer Hanan Hadžajlić, from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hanan will perform a programme of music by Irish and Bosnian composers on the 28th of May in Sarajevo, followed by a concert here in Dublin in June. Composer John Buckley will travel to Sarajevo with the support of Culture Ireland and the Contemporary Music Centre to give a pre-concert talk on his own work and on Irish contemporary music. Hanan will also perform some of the selected Irish works in Croatia later in June.

About Hanan Hadžajlić
Hanan Hadžajlić was born in Slovenia where she started her musical education at age of four. Since year 2005 she lives in Sarajevo (BiH). She graduated study of Flute and continued master studies in year 2014 with prof. Sakib Lačević and also, she is student of Music composition with prof. Ališer Sijarić at Sarajevo Academy of Music. Throughout her education she attended several masterclasses with renowned flutists such as Eva Furrer Boris Previšić, Felix Renggli, Ljubiša Jovanović , Dejan Gavric, Karolina Šantl Zupan, Aisling Agnew, Jessica Pierce, Eugenia Moliner , Renata Penezić , Alenka Zupan.
She sucsessfully participated to many regional and international flute competitions and won many awards such as Gold and Silver prize (“TEMSIG”, Slovenia), First and Special prize (“Takmičenje FBiH”, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Second prize and Third prize (“Davorin Jenko”, Serbia), First prize (“Yamaha EU Foundation”, Bosna i Hercegovina), First prize, Laureat of category, Laureat of whole competition (“Tahir Kulenovic”, Serbia) and two times First prize at chamber music competitions (“Takmičenje FBiH”, Bosnia and Hercegovina). She performed two times as soloist with Sarajevo Philharmonic orchestra with conductors Toshio Yanagisawa and Samra Gulamović.
She also performed in orchestra (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Sarajevo Philharmonic orchestra) with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Uroš Lajovic, Andrija Pavlić and with ensemble SONEMUS with Jurg Wyttenbach. She cooperated with contemporary music ensembles AMAS nad SONEMUS and with composers such as Dino Rešidbegović (premieres of many works for flute), Louis Aguirre, Philippe Manoury (performance of “Jupiter” for flute and electronics with Manoury and interactive designer Zlatko Baracsai, at Sarajevo Sonic Studio, 2013). Hanan performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia, Italy, Israel, Switzerland and Germany.
She performed at contemporary music festivals such as “Sarajevo Sonic Studio” in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), “Culturscapes” in Basel (Switzerland), and “Glazbena tribina Opatija” (Croatia) and Sonic Boom Festival (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Hanan participated in composition masterclasses with Heiner Goebbels, Philippe Manoury, Peter Ablinger, Vinko Globokar. At composer concourses she won premieres of her music in year 2015, in Aalborg, Denmark (Danish Composers Soicety) and New York, USA (Vox Novus concert Series). Her piece “Freezing Moon” for flute and voice is included in book ” The 21st Century Voice II”, of author Michael Edward Edgerton.
Tickets to the concert in Dublin will cost €10 and will be available on the door on the night.
