Pearse Halpin Releases Follow-up Single ‘Your Story’
Irish Pop-Rocker Pearse Halpin has just released his latest self-penned single, ‘Your Story’, taken from his recently released album ‘The Trick To Living’.
Pearse, who is originally from Dublin, initially began to make his name in the music world after relocating to Kells, Co.Meath. He released his debut independent album, ‘Found It’ in March 2012, and since then has amassed a growing local following with his charismatic live performances with his band.
After spending the past 18 months writing innovative new material for his follow-up album, Pearse was brought to the attention of German based AGR-TV records, who currently handle distribution throughout Europe for various well-known American artists. After hearing Pearse’s new album, ‘The Trick To Living’, he was immediately offered a deal with the label, and the album has recently been released worldwide through iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby. Pearse’s new single, ‘Your Story’ is taken from that album, and will no doubt attract further interest and excitement to the release. He has also signed a worldwide deal with Universal Music Publishing.
Growing up in Dublin in the 1970s, Pearse recalls singing to his father over the phone as an infant, as his first musical memory. After receiving a guitar for his eighth birthday, Pearse’s favourite hobby became recording his own self-penned songs onto cassette tapes, as young as nine years old. He would form his first band in high school, and went on to play session work with Frankie Lane and Gavin Glass.
Most recently, Pearse shared the stage with Damien Dempsey, Jerry Fish, Ryan Sheridan and Eddie Reader at the Navan Spiegeltent last June. His music was also featured in a film produced by Meath Tourist Board, about Kells, Co.Meath.
‘The Trick To Living’ has been well received by critics and fans alike, with some of the praise to date including:
“An album of contrasts, his very impressive second long-player, is mostly a full band affair, showcasing his cross-stylistic ease. Current single ‘Here They Lay’ is an impressively impassioned mid-tempo acoustic rocker that blends Fleetwood Mac’s melodic approach with that of The Waterboys…while the more understated and atmospheric ‘Entice Me’ veers towards Crowded House pop classicism. It is as they say – all good.” Colm O’Hare, Hot Press Magazine
“Halpin delivers a piece of perfect pop that Snow Patrol or The Script would be applauded for.” Mick Lynch, Journalist and Author
“Music is what feeling sounds like…It’s not often a song comes along that really makes you stop and be swept away by the powerful lyrics that speak to everybody. Mysterious, enchanting and a real treasure…With all the manufactured music these days it is refreshing to hear something truly original and hits you deep in your soul.” Jennifer Moulton, Freelance Music Journalist
