Nominees Announced for Meteor Choice Music Prize – Irish Song of the Year
2013 Anthems Go To Public Vote for Coveted Award
The Meteor Choice Music Prize, in association with IMRO and IRMA, announces the nominees for Irish Song of the Year 2013.
Ten songs from an eclectic mix of Irish musical talent will now go to a public vote. The overall winner will be revealed at the Meteor Choice Music Prize Live Event at Vicar Street on 27th February.
Now in its third year, the Meteor Choice Music Prize – Irish Song of the Year Award recognises the nation’s favourite songs from the previous year. Bringing the shortlisted songs to a public vote encourages people to discover new Irish artists and take an active role in supporting Irish music. Meteor has seen a large increase in voting numbers since the prize was established in 2011 and expects greater participation than ever this year.
Meteor is encouraging people to get involved by casting their vote through the Meteor Facebook page www.facebook.com/meteor or by texting ‘SONG’ to 085 711 4444 for a list of nominees.
