Ireland Music Week is delighted to announce that it will be
going ahead with the international facing showcase and conference in October
2020. The showcase and conference will take place online across four days in October, with
the music showcases taking place over three nights – Wednesday 7th,
Thursday 8th and Friday 9th. The festival is calling now
on Irish artists to apply to play.
Log onto https://www.irelandmusicweek.com and click on the “APPLY TO PLAY” button – applications will be through the artists’ Breaking Tunes profile. Closing date for applications is 3rd July.
As with so many other events, in these COVID19 times, IMW
has adapted the event to suit current restrictions. In order to give 2020
applicants and showcasing artists the best possible opportunity to reach
international music industry professionals, IMW are taking the festival,
including the showcases, online. With a stellar production company on board to
film the artists, there will be gigs taking place in various virtual rooms with
plenty of opportunity for fan interaction. Each act will perform three songs
and will get to keep and use the recording for themselves down the line.
Angela Dorgan, CEO of First Music Contact explains:
“Ireland Music Week is an essential event in an artists’ development and profile of the music industry in Ireland. It has been a challenge to maintain it in the calendar for 2020, but we feel we have come up with an innovative and exciting alternative to the real event. The main aim is to allow both industry and fans here and abroad to witness the next crop of Irish talent. The showcases and robust and busy conference schedule we are working towards online will maintain IMW’s essential presence as a key international facing showcase event.”
50
acts will have the chance to play and take part in this
internationally-recognised event showcasing Ireland’s best emerging talent.
For
artists of all levels, the online conference at the festival will give them a
chance to learn and develop their craft and create new opportunities with
agents, labels, bookers, music supervisors and services from all over the
world.
The
online conference will continue to include dedicated B2B elements to facilitate
the needs of the newly formed AIM Ireland, along with panels, workshops
and one to one meetings for the artists with international professionals.
