CMAT, Lankum and Jazzy nominated for Ivor Novello Awards 2024

April 24, 2024

Congratulations to CMAT, Lankum & Jazzy who are nominated for the Ivor Novello Awards 2024!

IMRO Members CMAT and Lankum are nominated for their respective albums, CrazyMad For Me and False Lankum in the Best Album category alongside Raye’s My 21st Century Blues, Sampha’s Lahai, and Yussef Dayes’ Black Classical Music.

Rising dance pop chart act Jazzy is nominated in the commercial category for Giving Me for PRS for Music most performed work of the year, which was co-written with Belters Only. Other nominees in her category include Harry Styles with As It Was, PinkPantheress and Ice Spice with Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2, Dave and Central Cee with Sprinter, and Kenya Grace with Strangers.

It continues the recognition of Irish songwriters at UK awards after both Jazzy and CMAT were nominated for the Brits earlier this year, and Lankum were nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Presented to British and Irish songwriters and screen composers by The Ivors Academy since 1956, each winner receives a hand-crafted Ivor Novello statuette and joins a roll call of greats that includes Adele, Stormzy, Cathy Dennis, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Dave, Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Joan Armatrading.

Ivor Novellos are judged by acclaimed songwriters and composers from The Ivors Academy and awarded for creative excellence. This peer recognition makes the awards so special and respected.  The award winners will be announced on Thursday 23rd May 2024 at Grosvenor House, London.
