The Saw Doctors-New Single

Taken from The No. 1 charted Irish Album:  ‘The further adventures of….”
+ **FREE GIG** The Saw Doctors will play a free concert in the Dublin Civic Offices (near Templebar) on Sunday June 19th as part of Mayo Alive Festival. On stage at 5PM.

It’s 2011 and here is a band withstanding the odds of the current music age, who still know how to recreate the tunes that put them among the most loved bands of the past two decades. ‘Be Yourself’ is the their third single taken from the latest studio album titled The Further Adventures of..… Their new single’s chorus enthusiastically proclaims the line “you’ve got to be yourself you can’t be anyone else”, Co writer Eímhín Cradock explains: “You can achieve all the heights that life brings; money; power; high social standing; etc. but if you've achieved it by emulating another person you've got nothing you can call your own. Racing through life looking for kudos from other people, without being true to your own code, is a lonely unfulfilling road. In a world of  spin and half truths,  Be Yourself is a song about being honest and being truthful”.

In the first week of The Further Adventures of…. album being released, it knocked off mercury winners The XX and Villagers from the No.1 position on the Indie Charts by coming straight in at No. 1! (and they also came in at a No. 7 position on the mainstream charts and maintained a Top 10 position for over 6 weeks). It has been a vast list of Chart success on numerous songs over the years such as well known favourites: “N17”, a cover of SUGABABES “About You Now”, (note that The Sugababes' original version of About You Now stalled at No. 2 in the Irish Chart while The Saw Doctors reached No. 1!) and more recently the Christmas 2010 No. 1 acapella version of their hit song ‘Red Cortina’ plus many more, that have helped The Saw Doctors maintain their defiant musical stance on the scene. The new single will only reinstat! e that.

The current lineup features:  Leo Moran (vocals, guitar), Davy Carton (vocals, guitar), Kevin Duffy (keyboards), Anthony Thistlethwaite (bass guitar, saxophone), and new drummer and co writer Eímhín Cradock (drums + vocals). Join the band as they embark on their Irish and international tour in the coming weeks and months.
