John Hogan is a singer, songwriter and traditional Irish musician from Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. John is a multi instrumentalist, over the years perfecting the tenor banjo, mandolin, and guitar.
 

When he was about twelve John fell in love with Traditional Irish Music, joined CCE and started entering the Fleadhs. No surprise as he can trace Trad back five generations on his Fathers' side. He won county and Leinster titles from the age of thirteen to nineteen and became All-Ireland Champion in 1981.John also did the UK and USA tours with CCE in 1983.
 

After that John started playing in Folk Bands and formed The Jarveys and Ború. Ború worked extensively from 1986-1994 both at home and abroad and even still do some select gigs. John also plays with a band called Cruinniú which is an eclectic mix of trad and songs from various sources with a diverse combination of instruments and influences.
 

John has been playing guitar, singing and writing songs since the age of fifteen and he is now focussed on his song writing and personal instrumental playing. John’s eagerly anticipated debut solo album 'Time Past' is set for release in early 2011 as well as that John is working on an album of Banjo playing which he plans to release later in the year..
 

Two of Ireland's most loved and best known vocalists collaborate to bring you an evening of music entitled ‘Songs from the Other Side’, inspired by their love and appreciation of some of the greatest songs ever written. It is a soulful fusion of blues, contempory, original and rock‘n’roll with each bringing her own style and experience to this unique pairing.

Up-and-coming indie-pop artist THE DANGER IS aka Dubliner Niamh Farrell is to play a headline show at CRAWDADDY on Saturday 5th March. Farrell's self-titled debut EP has been making waves since its release last year. Support will come from Tony Wright's (ASIWYFA) new project VERSECHORUSVERSE. The Danger is the working title adopted by Dublin based artist Niamh Farrell for her musical endeavours. Niamh has been writing for years and after a two-year period of experimentation has created a 4-track E.P. recorded in Wicklow in 2010 and produced by Ken Mc Hugh. The E.P. confronts a multitude of emotions; from fear to happiness, love and its confusions. It is laced with honesty and humour and features climactic instrumental arrangements. Niamh graduated from N.C.A.D. with a degree in fine art in 2008. Her art and music strive to question our place within the world and within ourselves. An important element of The Danger Is, is the artwork. It consists of an imagined horizon combining the past and the present, the personal and the universal. These micro/macro landscapes and musical experimentation enable The Danger Is to present an animated, hopeful and honest perspective of life and a young musician interrogating the idea of what happens when complacency rules. Some highlights of recent months include performances in Crawdaddy supporting Warpaint, The Olympia supporting The Coronas, and supporting Brit Award winning Ellie Goulding on her Irish tour dates. Niamh will also be featured in the upcoming season of RTE's Other Voices. Officially incorporated as a London-based not-for-profit organisation in December 2010, the ISNI International Agency is helping media companies prepare for the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI), a new standard which will streamline the way creative rights holders are referenced on the Internet.
 
The International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI – Draft ISO 27729) is an ISO certified global standard capable of easily identifying the millions of contributors to creative works, including writers, artists, creators, performers, researchers, producers, publishers and more. The ISNI International Agency, which will be responsible for ISNI’s administration and governance, was officially incorporated by its six founding members – CISAC (of which IMRO is a member), IFRRO, IPDA, ProQuest, OCLC and the Conference of European National Librarians (represented by Bibliothèque nationale de France and the British Library) – as a London-based not-for-profit organisation on December 22nd, 2010. The consortium members represent more than 300 rights management societies and 26,000 libraries worldwide. While the Agency creates the ISNI reference database – assigning ISNI identifiers to over 5 million names – and begins building a network of ISNI Registration Agencies, media and content companies are preparing to integrate ISNI into their operations.
 
“As digital formats come to dominate the entertainment landscape, a global standard that can identify all contributors to all cultural goods – whether they be artists, creators, producers, publishers – is key to an efficient legal marketplace,” said François-Xavier Nuttall, Corporate Director of the ISNI International Agency and Senior Technology Consultant for founding member CISAC.
 
Responding to this need, ISNI was developed under the auspices of the International Standard Organisation (ISO). The Agency’s six founding members – CISAC, IFRRO, IPDA, ProQuest, OCLC and the Conference of European National Librarians (represented by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the British Library) – reflect the groups that will benefit most from the standard’s integration by media companies, including creators, traditional and digital book/serial publishers, performers, libraries and other research/cataloguing specialists.
 

Limerick’s Rock & Roll outfit, FOX JAW BOUNTY HUNTERS, have just released their brand new single, ‘THREAD THE NEEDLE’ for radio and download. The single is the public’s first sneak peak to the highly anticipated debut long player.

After months locked away behind closed doors, perfecting every last second for the armada of songs that is their debut album, ‘The Devil In Music’, Fox Jaw Bounty Hunters are preparing themselves to release the long-awaited LP in late March of this year.
