NEW RELEASE FROM GARRETT WALL BAND

GWB release "2 Hours Later"

Madrid based Garrett Wall Band are hoping to help kick-start the summer with a new single in June on their Mondegreen Records label. Being released around the same time as the World Cup the somewhat fittingly titled 2 Hours Later will be released on iTunes and all digital download stores and will also be available as a 4-track CD which will feature songs from their previous two albums, the recent Hands & Imperfections and 2008's Sky Pointing. The single will go to radio in late May and will be available at the bands live shows and from their website www.garrettwallband.com

Having completed a week long promo tour of the country in February the band are due to return to Ireland, volcano permitting, for more live shows starting July 7th with a gig in Clonmel at Brazil's Café, July 8th at Crane Lane Theatre in Cork and band favourite the Tally Ho in Longford. The band will also be performing in Boyle's Pub in Slane in a post-World Cup final daze no doubt, and at the Glór Sessions on Monday July 12th in the International Bar, Dublin.

Along with radio appearances on East Coast, Country Mix and a possible TV appearance the lads will be fitting in as much as possible in this even-minier Irish jaunt. They will also be touring Spain throughout the Summer with some appearances in Fnac stores in Madrid, Marbella, Malaga and Seville.

On another note Wall recently co-wrote and sang an ad for Coca Cola which will be aired in 87 countries worldwide. Since moving to Spain he has been heavily involved in writing and singing for TV and cinema with over 150 national campaigns under his belt at this stage.

OUR LITTLE SECRETS

Our Little Secrets, the Dublin-based band whose debut album was released on 7th May, are the collective efforts of chief composer Rhob Cunningham and a merry band of like-minded cohorts.

Rhob Cunningham has spent the last few years playing songs and breaking E strings in every venue imaginable in Ireland, to anyone who'd listen. This incessant touring has led to supporting roles including Lisa Hannigan, Bell X1, Cathy Davey, Mundy, Mick Flannery and the late John Martyn, as well as backing vocal duties on Hannigan's debut album 'Sea Sew'.

Rhob, along with a selection of truly musical humans, ensconced themselves in to various studios, basements, attics and kitchens in Wicklow and Kildare, not leaving until the basis for a full length album was in the bag. So now, some moons later, it's all ready to go and time to set it loose on some fresh pairs of ears.

The album features the strumming, hitting and plucking of Cormac Curran (Villagers/Cathy Davey), Ross Turner (Jape/I Am The Cosmos), Shane Holly (Jennifer Evans & The Ripe Intent) as well as sporting the considerable talents of the likes of Lisa Hannigan, Cathy Davey and Jenny Lindfors and assorted family and friends. Produced by Gavin Glass and mixed by Keith Farrell (The Duckworth Lewis Method) and mastered in the late Liam Clancy's studio in Dungarvan.

Our Little Secrets will be supporting The Villagers on their tour in May, followed by their own national tour in June.

HUGH DOOLAN

Singles “Cupidz Tune” and “I Won’t leave” out now on iTunes.
Released March 2010

Talented songsmith Hugh Doolan hails from Drogheda, Co. Louth.  A veteran of the Irish music scene Hugh has performed and recorded solo, and with bands, all around Europe. Some highlights include support to Christy Moore in Berlin’s Quasimodo club and Pierre Bensusan in Cesena, Italy; swapping songs with Glen Hansard in a UCD squash court at 6 a.m for charity in 1986 and recording an album of self-written Italo-Irish folk songs with Piemontese band In the Kitchen

“Slopey”, his first digital release – available now on CD Baby, iTunes and Amazon – is an album of melodic and catchy songs showcasing a heart-worn, folk-soul voice, each track carefully hewn from granite-like dedication with trusty collaborator Jason Ellis; think edgy yet tonally rich vocal delivery akin to Ray Lamontagne or even Nick Drake, with Lou Reed provider of lyrical slant.

Operating in the alternative/folk/folk-rock genre Hugh has left plenty of room for a boot-stamp of originality, where styles have a pendulum effect from track to track whilst still retaining soulful identity. Examples of this are heard on the mali-esque playfulness of “See Africa”, the sheer classic byrdsy tone of “Cupidz tune” and the intense brooding on “Crime”

Hugh is busy mastering a new album “Clear as day as the night is long” which will be released mid June. Preview tracks are available on Myspace and Grooveshark

Most of the songs on this album were recorded at home in Rush, Co. Dublin where alongside a bevy of new songs the remainder were taken from his extensive back-catalogue; the recording approach favours an ear for intimacy with the listener, soon drawing you into a broader landscape as the album progresses. Hugh hopes to be performing songs from the new album later this summer in and around Dublin.

Hugh and wife Sara Jane are also currently writing/recording a separate batch of country and folk songs aimed at female singers. If that wasn’t enough Hugh is a collaborator of sorts on Irish-run DJ social networking site www.rocudo.com which explores streamed yet remixable electronic music with effects!

‘Slopey’ Musicians :
Rob Corbett: Drums, Bongos
Colette O'Leary: Accordion
Sinead Buckley: Backing Vocals
Jason Ellis: Bass, Backing Vocals, Drums (track 3), Electric Guitar, Whistle
Hugh Doolan: Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica, Vocals
