Having just formed in April 2021, Dublin based alt-electronic artist wornoc (aka Conor Walsh) has carved out a niche in forward-pushing alternative-electronic sounds from these shores. Having championed the likes of Rock Sound Magazine, BBC Introducing, RTÉ and Hot Press Magazine, it’s clear there is something special and novel to his work, sounds that are far removed from what’s going on in the Irish music scene. wornoc’s music is cinematic, intense and emotional. Driven by infectious grooves, lush ambient textures, melodic guitar riffs and electronic music.
wornoc has gone on to collaborate with renowned musicians such as Andrew Marshall (drummer of Billie Eillish), Justin Nace (PVRIS) and Josh Manuel (ISSUES).
New Single ‘Collision’
Driven by analogue heavy and experimental downtempo electronics, ‘Collision’ combines the timbres of two artists from different parts of the planet, not to mention opposite ends of the musical spectrum. Introduced through Dublin based artist coolgirl, Conor (aka wornoc) reached out to Elliot (aka Varsity Star) via Instagram with a collaboration in mind, thus resulting in an immersive composition layered with spectacular spatial textures throughout.
Quote: “I’ve been following coolgirl for a quiet while and noticed she had done some great work with Varsity Star, so I reached out to him on Instagram with a remix in mind for my previously released track ‘Rising Tides’. Elliot kindly agreed to work with me. After a couple of months of exchanging messages back and forth, Elliot sent me what he was working on and I was blown away with how he twisted the track I sent him and completely turned it into something so spatially immersive from start to finish. This collaboration has creatively opened doors to how I will approach my future compositions. Hopefully we will get to do a live exchange in person someday.
