Barry Tierney is a multi-international award winning singer/songwriter from Kinsale, in south Ireland. Barry’s unique singing voice and writing style are distinctly Irish and have gained him fans at home and abroad.

He has been presented songwriting awards by such names as Robin Gibbs of The Bee Gees (Winning the International song writing contest) and Bob Geldof of the Boomtown Rats as well as the Irish Minister of Arts at the time of winning the IMRO sponsored Sean McCarthy writing festival award in 2011. After gaining an honours degree in Commercial Modern Music, Barry topped the Irish iTunes Charts in 2014 with his critically acclaimed album ‘Hotel Alamar’ which led to him signing a lifetime publishing deal with Universal Music Berlin.

Barry has toured Russia, UK, Germany and the US as well as Australia. Barry has appeared on TV and Radio shows around Europe and the US including Russian National Tv (Channel 1), Fox news NY, CNBC NY, BBC, BBC radio 1, RTE TV and radio, TV3 and TG4 amongst others.

In 2021 Barry’s single ‘Rosie Ale of England‘ reached No.2 in the main iTunes Charts.

In the summer of 2023 Barry embarked on a 16 week tour of Australia as lead singer and musical director of ‘Rhythms of Ireland‘, Australia’s biggest and most successful Irish music and dance show. Every major city and town was covered by the 70 shows and the tour was a huge commercial success as well as being critically acclaimed.

Barry is the director and co-founder of Anglo-Irish productions (along with choreographer Kevin Goble), a Cork/Belfast based production and promotion company specialising in Irish cultural performances. The company has produced and performed sold out shows in The MAC theatre Belfast, St. Multose and St. Catherine’s Cultural Centre Kinsale.

In 2024 they produced a 50 night tour of Germany with a music and dance show called Dance Masters which they wrote and produced. The company has subsequently signed a 2 year deal for Germany and Austria.

2025 saw Barry release his second studio album, ‘Colours on Canvas’ which was critically acclaimed. It also saw Barry win the IMRO sponsored Sean McCarthy song writing contest for the second time with his song ‘Farmer John of the Heavenly nets.’
