Uisce Jones to Release Heartfelt New Single ‘Amy’ on March 28th, Inspired by Netflix’s Adaptation of One Day
Singer-songwriter Uisce Jones is set to release a brand-new single, Amy, a deeply emotional track inspired by the hit Netflix adaptation of One Day. Written in a feverish haze after returning home from a holiday in Hamburg, sick and stuck in bed, Uisce binged the show in just two days—an experience so intense it led to an outpouring of emotion for the frustration of Dexter and Emma’s tumultuous relationship.
“I was already feeling emotional, and then One Day completely wrecked me,” says Uisce. “I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and before I knew it, I was writing a song about the nature of how the two in the story keep returning into each other’s lives: the love, the loss, and that feeling of time slipping away.”
With haunting melodies and raw, heartfelt lyrics, Amy captures the bittersweet essence of love, longing, and what it means to truly cherish a friendship.
Uisce Jones is an indie folk artist from the rural countryside of the west of Ireland, where he grew up surrounded by some of Irelands last remaining oak Forests.
Getting lost in the woods and recording all of his work in a small remote cabin, Uisce began creating songs inspired by early childhood memories and the experience of coming of age in the modern world.
Influenced by the intimate romantic storytelling of Leonard Cohen as well as contemporary folk artists Sufjan Stevens, Phoebe Bridgers, and fellow Irish musician Fionn Regan, Uisce has developed a unique sound that blends atmospheric textures with the emotional rawness of traditional folk storytelling. His music is both intimate and expansive, equally at home in a small, dimly lit room or on a festival stage, where his energy and passion can lift a crowd. Uisce Jones is carving out his own path, creating folk music that feels timeless yet distinctly modern.
Now Uisce embarks towards releasing a new set of singles, marking a highly personal and atmospheric stage in his life. These tracks were recorded and produced in an old wooden cabin in Galway, capturing the space’s raw, organic and familiar feel. The intimate atmosphere enabled Uisce to fully immerse himself in his songwriting, resulting in songs that are reflective of the experience of moving to Dublin City and the emotional connection to growing up in a free environment back in Galway. These new recordings highlight his unique blend of folk authenticity and ambient soundscapes, providing insight into his maturing artistry.
