Returning for its third consecutive edition, the Music & Mental Health Festival is set to take over The Workman’s Club’s Main Room and Cellar on the 18th of May, 2025. The event, headlined by Tolü Makay and Qbanaa, will feature a panel discussion and a workshop, alongside live performances, to invite people to join the conversation and raise awareness on mental health challenges in the music industry.
The 2025 edition of the Music & Mental Health Festival aims to shine a light on the connection between music and anxiety from the perspective of artists, industry professionals and fans, while also emphasising available support for the people working in the creative sector.
This year, six acts across two stages will be showcased, blending a variety of genres, from alt-rock to pop, soul and hip-hop. On the main stage, attendees will be able to witness energetic performances by the unapologetic all-female alt-rock band Martina and The Moons, the captivating Stockholm-born hip-hop artist Skull The Pierre, and alternative pop-soul festival headliner Tolü Makay, whose ability to captivate audiences has brought her to perform across major Irish and European festivals, as well as President Michael D. Higgins’ 80th birthday. Calum Agnew, the “rising soul-popper” winner of “A New Local Hero” 2024, will kick off the Cellar stage, followed by the Dublin indie-pop 5-piece Trinkets. It will be headlined by the dynamic Cuban-Irish singer-songwriter Qbanaa, known for her ability to fuse different genres, such as soul, jazz and Latin rhythms, alongside her Cuban heritage.
Zoé Piater, founder and director of the festival, commented, “As we launch the third edition, we’re excited to present yet another thoughtfully curated lineup of incredibly talented artists. With both the conference and showcases, our aim is to foster a safe and welcoming space where musicians, industry professionals, and fans can openly share their experiences. By doing so, we hope to normalise conversations around mental health in the music industry while offering valuable resources and support.”
