The first release from The DC Experiment since 2018’s ‘Lucky’ represents an interesting departure for the experimental ensemble. ‘Dona Ignez (has the last laugh)’ is the lead single from the forthcoming album, recorded by frontman Dave Conway in his home studio, which will be trickle-released throughout 2019.
The idea for ‘Dona Ignez’ came from a recording of
Regina Damaceno telling a story about her mum, and he challenged himself to
write a song using the recorded spoken word as a backing track.
The accompanying video was created by the incredibly talented Father and Son team of Dublin-based Clifford Clifford Productions, after a few hours of shooting in their welcoming studio.
The launch gig will feature a variety of musicians from all corners of the globe, and special guests on the night will be Dunboyne acts Lady Landscape, playing a stripped back acoustic set, and the ephemeral sounds of Jamie O’Reilly, fresh from his recent jaw-dropping set at Gigonometry in The Workmans Club.
