In January 2025, songwriter Tessa Rose Jackson released an EP of collaborations titled ‘A Mirror Sometimes‘, which includes a poignant duet with Cork songwriter Caoilian Sherlock.

The two met for the first time while snowed in during a storm at a studio in Dublin, just after performing together the night before. That meeting sparked the creation of ‘Sad Duet, a reflective, slow-burning track capturing the emotional spontaneity of their collaboration.

Now, the pair reunite for The Sad Duet Tour – a short run of intimate live shows across the south of Ireland this August, bringing their shared musical spark back to Irish audiences in five unique venues.

Caoilian Sherlock recalls: “Writing ‘Sad Duet’ with Tessa and Darius in the middle of a snowstorm in Dublin was really special; three strangers finding a shared voice while we hid from the wild Irish weather. I’m thrilled we get to bring that moment back to life on a new tour and revisit those songs together in some of the most beautiful rooms in Ireland.”

Tessa Rose Jackson is a songwriter, composer and visual artist based in London and Amsterdam. For six years, she released music under the moniker Someone, but since 2024, she has returned to using her own name for all her creative output.

A film composer as well as an indie artist, her music has a naturally cinematic quality—channeling stories where the human, the intimate and the fantastical intertwine. Jackson salutes influences such as Feist, Laura Marling, Nick Drake and Zero 7, walking the line between dreams and reality, delicacy and force.

Speaking ahead of the Irish tour, Tessa shares: “There’s nothing more special than playing music live to people in new, welcoming locations. Especially in such an intimate set-up. It’s going to be such a celebration of collaboration, music and connection and we can’t wait to play!”

Jackson’s 2025 EP ‘A Mirror Sometimes’ features collaborations with artists including Nana Adjoa, Benjamin Longman and Noon Garden.

Caoilian Sherlock, meanwhile, has been writing songs and playing guitar since the age of fifteen. Once steeped in the raw energy of rock and roll bands, his solo material has taken on a more introspective tone, rooted in folk sensibilities and heartfelt lyricism.

His 2023 debut solo album ‘Teenage Jesus followed a series of playful and infectious singles and an EP ‘Big Child’, and was supported by a robust UK and Irish tour that took him from Cork to London and everywhere in between, often with his band The Big Children.
