Releasing their debut album, “A Place We’ve Never Been” in August 2024, Sun Mahshene have propelled to national prominence, securing two support slots for The Brian Jonestown Massacre this week in Dublin and Belfast.

On supporting the American psychedelic rockers, Sun Mahshene lead vocalist Nathan Henderson stated, “The Brian Jonestown Massacre have been a huge influence for us. To finally get to play a show with them is a dream come true” . Lead guitarist and backing vocalist Rob Crosbie added, “For an independent band like us, to be asked personally by the band to support them is really cool”.

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Sun Mahshene emerged in 2018, breathing new life into the indie and shoegaze scenes. Featuring a unique Irish / Polish line-up, the band is diverse unit, crafting a sound that is a bold mix of alternative rock, ambient electronica, and shoegaze, with a decidedly anthemic tone – dubbing this colourful hybrid “post-shoegaze for the masses”

Championed by the likes of Amazing Radio, 8Radio, BBC Across The Line, BBC Radio 1, RTÉ 2FM, 98 FM, Hotpress and more, the band have defined themselves as a stand-out act in the Irish shoegaze scene.

“Very much in the Shoegaze vein, which is a good thing by me, as a massive Shoegaze fan. You’ll detect elements of My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive in the sound world of what it is that they do. Mastered by a true Shoegazer, Mark Gardner from Ride – it’s a great song!” –  Stephen McCauley BBC Radio Belfast

“Sure to impress listeners from the outset with their infectious and intense soundscape” – Hot Press Magazine
