Ellen O’Meara is a singer-songwriter from Westmeath, who explores themes of mental health, relationships, and societal expectations of women through her raw, honest lyrics.
Like a lot of people, Ellen felt helpless watching the news over the last year, and struggled to understand the apathy towards the Palestinian people and their plight. As a result she wrote this song expressing solidarity with Palestinians in the hope it might raise awareness and funds.
This is more than just a song—it’s a heartfelt effort to bring hope and support to the children of Palestine who need it most. Each download of the song costs €10: https://songforpalestine.bandcamp.com/track/song-for-palestine (Downloadable link live 11 Dec 2024). All proceeds go to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).
A collaborative effort from start to finish… The song was written by Ellen O’Meara, produced by Stepping on Lego with single artwork by Berlin based, Irish artist Dee Mulrooney. The video features recent Gaza footage shot by Fady Hossam Hanona and directed by Mick Mahon, editor of the acclaimed 2019 documentary, Gaza. This project was brought together by Music Consultant, Suzanne Doyle.
