‘Retreat’ is the brand new single from Donegal singer-songwriter Shauna Scanlon. It is her second release of 2025 and follows on from the huge success of her previous singles and debut EP ‘Brand New’. Her first four singles received regional and national airplay; she was chosen as Beta De Silva’s Grassroots Pick of the Week on 2FM and performed on Virgin Media One’s The Six O’Clock Show.
This release marks a new era for Shauna following her superb first headline gig in The Balor Theatre in May.
‘Retreat’ will be available on all streaming platforms from 19th September 2025.
‘Retreat’ is a song about wanting to remove yourself from drama or problems in your life by retreating from the stresses surrounding you. It talks about needing some space and taking time to focus on yourself and your wellbeing. This song has a slightly different sound to Shauna’s previous releases and will be sure to capture your attention from the first note.
Written by Shauna herself, the pop rock guitar is provided by Aaron McCormick with production by Callum ‘Gordo’ Gordon who expertly helps to create a song with a gritty but soulful feel.
