Seán Finn and the Late Bloomers release their fourth single ‘Late Bloomer’ on the 31st of January. Helmed by frontman Seán Finn, the group have become known for their tuneful melodies and lively instrumentation. The group have frequented many of London’s notable live music venues such as the SJQ, Dalston and Toulouse Lautrec, Kennington.

‘Late Bloomer’ came about as a simple guitar ballad. With chords reminiscent of Frank Ocean’s Blonde, and a melody as simple as a Mac DeMarco crooner, this surely is a tune to lull anyone into a slumber. However, in the hands of Seán Finn and the Late Bloomers, the ballad became a hypnotic funk opus. With luscious harmonies, a soaring lead guitar track, and a feverish bassline, this tune will keep you coming back for more and more! Seán had this to say about the track:

‘This surely is our most commercial track so far! It was a lot of fun to produce, and I learned a lot when overdubbing the backing vocals and the bouncy synth part. The guitar solo was so much fun to record as well; Schindler knocked that one out of the park on the first take so we just kept it that way!’

With international dates on the horizon, the group are showcasing their new music in Ireland and Germany in the Spring. ‘Late Bloomer’ will be available in all the usual places from the 31st of January.
