Saw Doctors co-founder Turps shares the Double A-Side Single: ‘Vive Le Revolution’ and ‘Western Coast’

April 24, 2023

John Turps was a co founding member of Irish band the Saw Doctors and was instrumental in the bands success and gaining international status. He also appeared as a guest backing vocalist on The Waterboys song How Long Will I Love You from the album Room to Roam.

A 2009 Galway County Person of the Year Award Nominee, Turps as a survivor of sexual abuse, heart attack and cancer, has helped raise funds and awareness for the Galway Rape Crisis Centre. Spending his downtime listening mostly to jazz, all the greats and newer inspiring artists, he wanted to create something new and different.

After the critical acclaim of his debut solo album ‘illuminate’, he is returning with a new double album, “Age Of Uncertainty”, remotely recorded and self produced in his studio incorporating Manuel Trabucco (Pescara Italy) on saxophone, Jamie Parks (Suffolk England) on drums, Juan Ignacio Ferreras (Buenos Aires Argentina) on cello and string effects and local guests, Hannah Wujiw, Conor O Donnell, Thomas Niland, Odie Lynch, Seamus Ruttledge, Mike Stewart, Alex Stewart, Lisa Heffernan, Berty Glancy. The album was mastered by two time Grammy winner Andres Mayo (Buenos Aires Argentina).

The first double A side single available on all streaming platforms is Vive Le Revolution and Western Coast.  You can stream the tracks below:
