Rising star MOIO is making waves once again with his third single, Moments. The single recently exploded in popularity over the last week after Moio posted a snippet of himself singing an acoustic version of the song. Today the single is #1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 playlist in the USA, Ireland, UK, Canada, Norway, Denmark and New Zealand.
Emerging from a DIY bedroom production background during the lockdown era, MOIO has proven that authenticity cuts through the noise. With Moments, he continues to carve out a path that feels personal, innovative, and universally relatable.
The sound of Moments defies easy categorization. The track opens with electric guitars reminiscent of iconic 2000s indie rock bands like Coldplay and The Killers while channelling the moody introspection of Kid Cudi’s “Mr. Rager” and the inventive flair of Teezo Touchdown. A straightforward drum pattern underpins the song, allowing MOIO’s lyrics to take center stage.
MOIO’s vocal delivery sets him apart, drawing comparisons to artists like Daniel Caesar, Don Toliver, and Steve Lacy while maintaining a unique style that feels both fresh and familiar. The track’s outro is a highlight, with layered acoustic guitars, emotive synths, and MOIO’s double-layered vocals creating an ethereal and deeply moving finish.
